“The Deer Hunting Itch.” It’s here. It’s consuming our minds. We’re buying gear, planting food plots, preparing stands, doing anything we can to fulfill our excitement for the season that is exactly 7 weeks, 2 days and 9 hours away. And, if you’re anything like me (which I bet you are) you’re watching and reading anything and everything hunting.
Well my fellow hunting addicts, here’s a post of what I consider The Best Deer Hunting Resources to help all of you “scratch that itch.” I’ve also included a couple bonus resources that many of you probably haven’t found yet.
So get comfy, you’re going to be here for a while!
THE BEST ONLINE HUNTING CHANNEL – CARBON TV

I meant it when I said “you’re going to be here a while.” Carbon TV is hands-down the best site to stream hunting shows. And, IT’S FREE. Seriously, there are more episodes of hunting shows on here than you have time to watch between now and the start of hunting season. A few of my favorites are Heartland Bowhunter, Major League Bowhunter and Growing Deer TV. Stream anytime, anywhere from your laptop, tablet or cell phone.
If you don’t have an unlimited data plan, you may want to consider an upgrade. You’re about to start A LOT of streaming.
THE BEST HUNTING PODCAST – WIRED TO HUNT

If you’re a Michigan deer hunter and you haven’t listed to Wired To Hunt yet, start listening RIGHT NOW. Honestly over the past 3 years I’ve learned more from Mark Kenyon and the Wired To Hunt podcast than all resources combined. I listen every day at work, in the gym, hell I fall asleep to Wired To Hunt most nights. Mark is a Michigan deer hunter who knows how to get it done in a state that is arguably the hardest state to kill a mature buck. Oh, and like Carbon TV, everything is free!
I may have somewhat of a “man crush” on Mark Kenyon, but it’s for good reason. He’s legit. Really, really legit.
THE BEST HUNTING DVD’S – DRURY OUTDOORS

Streaming free hunting shows is great, but there is just something about having that giant stack of DVD’S in front of the ol’ deer camp TV. I’ve watched DVD’S (and VHS tapes back in the day) from just about every major hunting icon out there and Drury Outdoors is definitely the best. Mark and Terry Drury are deer hunting “Mad Scientists.” That’s what I love. They plan, they study, they’re calculated with literally EVERYTHING they do both during the season and in the off-season. The best part: THEY SHARE ALL OF IT. Their DVD’s aren’t your “run of the mill” deer blasting compilation. They’re educational, informative and entertaining.
Go out and grab a few for you and your deer camp buddy’s. There tips and tactics might help your whole camp be better hunters!

THE BEST HUNTING MAGAZINE – DEER AND DEER HUNTING
Just like having a stack of hunting DVD’s at deer camp, everyone has to have a massive stack of hunting magazines in their lodge. To be fair, I love pretty much every hunting magazine. I mean, who doesn’t? But cover-to-cover and issue-to-issue Deer And Deer Hunting is the best. They just don’t disappoint, every issue is beautifully laid out and packed full of useful info.
If you’re looking for a new magazine subscription, look no further.

BONUS RESOURCES – JOHN EBERHART & JAKE EHLINGER
Congrats! Somehow you’ve made it to the end of this post without getting sidetracked by all the addicting links above. Trust me, you’ll be glad you made it to this point. John Eberhart and Jake Ehlinger are two of the best hunting personalities that I would consider “off the radar.”

John Eberhart is, in my opinion, the best big buck killer in Michigan. He’s probably killed more record book bucks in The Mitten State than you or I will ever even see in our lifetime. He knows how to hunt this state, and every podcast (check out his Wired To Hunt episodes), book, article and YouTube video he’s done is absolute gold. Read, watch and listen to everything you can get your hands on!

Jake Ehlinger is a whitetail habit expert. If you own property big or small and want to build a “whitetail paradise,” he’s your guy. Jake has several YouTube videos, books and podcasts (also on Wired To Hunt) that will have you hinge cutting, food plotting and habitat managing your brains out. Soak it in, you (and your deer herd) will be glad you did!
